This summer, I was honored to have my work displayed in a gallery show aboard historic museum ship The Lilac. The S.S. Lilac is an historic lighthouse tender that was recently refurbished and turned into a museum ship. This summer, the newly designed ship opened to the public for the first time with a hugely successful gallery show curated by Melinda Wang. There is something so inspiring about being a part of a new project and seeing it really take off and become something amazing; excitement and love for art abounded on opening night with a line all the way down the pier to get into the gallery!
I selected my photo series of gorgeous and talented ballerina Michaela DePrince - photographed at sunrise at the South Street Seaport - to share at this unique venue. I love how this series of photos combines the crisp, clean lines of Michaela's dancing with the lines and shapes of the seaport; to display these photos inside a museum ship brought a new and inspiring dimension to this series of my work.
Thank you so much to everyone at Lilac Arts for having me!
