One of my favorite things about photography is the way that this art form allows me to tell a story over time. On Mother's Day morning I headed to Brooklyn to meet then-8-months-pregnant Erin and her husband, Chris, and we had a wonderful time shooting both maternity and dancing photos. See the photos from that day here. Fast forward to this past Saturday when I got to meet and photograph their baby daughter for a truly special series of photos.
We met at their apartment and spent a few minutes catching up before I took out my camera; when I shoot with little babies I like to make sure they're comfortable around me before I pull out a huge camera! Once I started shooting, I was amazed at how alert and present Winnie was; we got some great shots of her looking right into the camera and interacting with her parents. A little while later, we headed to a nearby park and little Winnie fell asleep in her dad's arms on the way - modeling is hard work! I couldn't resist snapping a few shots of her snoozing in her parents' arms before she woke back up and we continued our shoot with family photos.
I love all of these photos so much, and I especially treasure that they are part of a larger photography story. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon, Winnie and family!
